Teen retailer Hot Topic plans to purchase GeekNet (NASDAQ: GKNT), parent company of ThinkGeek, in a deal valued at more than $117 million. The company sells toys and other small gadgets associated with "geek culture," like "The Big Bang Theory" and "Star Trek." According to The Los Angeles Times, Hot Topic will pay approximately $17.50 per GeekNet share. Currently, privately-owned Hot Topic has 650 total locations.
