Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) isn't the only place you will be getting game invitations anymore, thanks to a new update to the social media giant's independent application, Messenger. Friends can now send private, native game invitations to each other via the Messenger platform application list, according to TechCrunch. The first game available, Facebook announced, is titled "Doodle Draw" and is similar to the once-popular "Draw Something" where participants draw small pictures and send them to each other, having to guess the picture. The integration of games within Messenger comes with both positive and negative possibilities. On one hand, the games could draw more consistent users to the platform, however, it opens a whole new can of worms when it comes to spamming. “Currently, we think Messenger Platform is best suited for apps that focus on content creation and curated content. But, one of the reasons we were excited to announce at F8 that Messenger Platform is open to all developers is to see what people build. From there, we’ll think about what else might make sense," a Facebook representative told Tech Crunch. For more business and financial news, click here.
