Under Armour’s (NYSE: UA) tennis department just can’t seem to catch a break. Pro-tennis athlete Andy Murray, as part of a four-year contract he signed earlier this year, agreed to wear Under Armour-branded shoes, as well as all branded gear, on the court, according to Business Insider. However, was seen at the U.S. Open sporting his old sponsor, Addidas, on his feet. Soon after, Addidas announced that Murray broke his agreement with Under Armour and has decided to go back to his former sponsor. Yikes. Under Armour’s tennis division is relatively new, and has had a particularly rough time getting on its feet. Murray breaking his contract is a horrible way to get the ball rolling for this new section of the brand. Time will tell if Under Armour is able to sign on any more all-star athletes to its tennis line, however, with the first news being that Murry signed off early, I'm not sure who's next on the roster.
