About 2200 part and full time Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) employees are out of work as of Monday, according to CNN Money. The largest employer in the United States laid of the employees due to plumbing issues, the company reported. According to Wal-Mart the currently closed locations in California, Oklahoma, Florida and Texas experienced persistent plumbing issues, enough to shut the stores down. However, Wal-Mart does have the intention to reopen them once the issues are fixed. The employees will be paid for two months leave, in which time they can either try to transfer to another Wal-Mart location or find work elsewhere.
