Premium television channel Showtime (NYSE: CBS) has teamed up with subscription streaming service Hulu to offer customers access to the premium content for a free, according to TechCrunch. By teaming up with Hulu, Showtime will become available on a wider variety of consoles and play devices, TechCrunch reported. Further, Showtime will be launching its stand alone streaming application in July, offering customers a subscription for $11 per month. If users have Hulu subscriptions, they can add Showtime to their lineup for an extra $8.99 per month, in addition for the $7.99 in Hulu fees. “We are always looking to give our subscribers access to the best content available,” said Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins in a statement about the deal, according to TechCrunch. “The robust slate of Showtime original programming, movies, and specials together with Hulu’s strength in current season programming, library acquisitions and original programming makes a powerful combination.” For more business and financial news, click here.
