Taco Bell and Pizza Hut (NYSE: YUM) are planning to remove artificial ingredients from their menus by the end of 2015, making them the latest in a slew of fast food and causal restaurant chains to make their lineups healthier. Taco Bell, owned by Yum! Brands, announced it will stop including Yellow No. 6 and Blue No. 1 in items like ranch sauce and tortilla strips, while subtracting high fructose corn syrup from menu items, as well. This will not, however, including items like the Doritos Tacos or soda beverages, Yahoo Finance reported. Pizza Hut, also of Yum!, will be removing artificial ingredients, however, CEO Brian Niccol ensures the taste of the food will not change. "I do not want to lose any element of being accessible to the masses," Niccol said, according to Yahoo Finance. Other brands, like McDonald's, Panera and Subway have also made efforts recently to remove artificial flavors and colors from their menus, Yahoo reported. Mexican fast casual brand Chipotle is taking this healthy movement a step further by removing all genetically modified products from their lineup. For more business and financial news, click here.
