A man in Chicago is suing Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) for violating the Illinois Biometric Privacy Act, according to Ars Technica. Carlo Licata filed the class action lawsuit, claiming the social media site is using biometric information without users’ consent in regards to the “tag suggestion” feature. Licata’s suit, filed April 1, reads: “Unfortunately, Facebook actively conceals from its users that its Tag Suggestion feature actually uses proprietary facial recognition software to scan their uploaded photographs, locate their faces, extract unique biometric identifiers associated with their faces, and determine who they are.”
