CVS Photo Gets Hacked - Shuts Down

CVS's (NYSE: CVS) photo website shut down Thursday, according to reports, after the website's third party vendor suffered a potential hack. The credit card information of CVSPhoto.com may have been compromised, however, will not affect purchases on CVS.com or in stores.

"As a precaution, as our investigation is underway we are temporarily shutting down access to online and related mobile photo services. We apologize for the inconvenience," Mike DeAngelis, CVS' director of public relations said, according to USA Today

In order to ensure no other customers be affected by the hack, executives decided to shut down the site.

"Nothing is more central to us than protecting the privacy and security of our customer information, including financial information. We are working closely with the vendor and our financial partners and will share updates as we know more," the website said.
