Apple (NASDAQ: APPL) will reportedly release its newest Apple TV device in upcoming weeks, according to The New York Times, and along with a redesign of the device comes an remote control upgrade, as well. Currently, the remote is a sleek, rectangular shape with only three buttons, in conjunction with co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs', vision for the design of the company's signature products. However, the new, upgraded version of the remote will include a touch pad, already included on most Apple devices, along with two physical buttons, a representative from Apple told The New York Times. This is the first time in eight years the design of the remote will be changed.
