Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) announced Wednesday it will be cutting another 7,800 jobs, according to Bloomberg, in Finland, where Nokia headquarters in located. The tech giant acquired the hardware company last year under the former leadership of ex-CEO Steve Ballmer for $9.5 million. Microsoft purchased Nokia in an attempt to improve the user based for its Windows mobile software, however, still only remains 5% of the mobile software demographic. According to reports, the company will be focusing more heavily on the Windows markets, cloud computing and business processes in the future. “In the near-term, we’ll run a more effective and focused phone portfolio while retaining capability for long-term reinvention in mobility,” Satya Nadella, current Microsoft CEO, said in the statement, according to Bloomberg.
