Shares of The Container Store (NYSE: TCS) fell almost 25% in after hours trading on Monday, according to Business Insider, reportedly due to less-than-expected earnings. Adjusted earnings for the fourth quarter came in at .24 cents earnings per share, missing analysts' prediction by 7 cents. Further, net sales missed the bar by about $10 million, coming in at $234 million. Total revenue for the quarter hit $781.9 million. According the CEO Kip Tindell, low numbers were to be expected due to extreme winter weather, inhibiting customers to get to store locations. "Our fourth quarter did not conclude according to early-in-the-quarter trends," he said, according to Business Insider. "Weather was a contributing factor, as we experienced winter storms in February during the vitally important last 4 days of our 50-day Annual Elfa Sale and during the last week of our 19-day Sale’s extension."
