Uber is testing out a "suggested pickup location" feature in the San Francisco area, according to TechCrunch. The ride-sharing service now displays pickup locations to the user that would be more convenient or faster than where they may be currently located. For example, the application may suggest a location down the street where there is ample room to pull over, suggesting the user walk somewhat, to save time. According to TechCrunch, this technology is an impressive use of big data and map processing. The new feature is currently only available for some users with no official report by the company that it will be rolling the service out nationwide. For more business and financial news, click here.
